Sing A New Song

Illustration of the Bible Verse Psalm 98:1

My attention while reading this morning’s news was interrupted by a subtle sound of chirping coming from a tiny bird outside the window, with its blinds still hiding the sleepiness in the household. The constant chirping became louder until its highest pitch was reached, alerting my ears at that moment. I paused reading a particular news which wasn’t always good news lately. Well, for many years, starting a few years back. I haven’t heard those chirping for a while. Quiet in cold winters, then seemed to come alive as spring season blooms to cast joy over the dead of the winters.

The loud chirping brought those familiar tunes I heard whenever I was going through a trial. Those what seemed to be monotonous sounds were actually bringing me pulsating hums of joy as if raining down from up above. They would always cheer me up as I was about to wake up or in the middle of the morning as I sipped my cup of coffee. The notes reaching my ears were no different than from what it did to my either low or battled spirit in the past. Chirp...Chirp… Chirp…

Suddenly, words formed in my deepest thoughts as if each “chirp” was being decoded at that moment…

“Sing a new song…”

“Sing a new song,” was the news I heard coming from a tiny creature, busy greeting the early dawn before the sun busted out of the Eastern skies and cast its warm rays and brighten up the slowly fading darkness from the long night before.

It was not just “chirping.” Those notes were a reminder to my “feeling sick for many months now.”

Life has been really tough for most of us during this pandemic. I had been sick. Not from Covid-19 but from the evilness I had seen and heard and discerned from the hidden parts. I had been sick of evil plans subtly erasing God in any event and history, and to have contorted ideas be accepted as the norm.

Day in, day out, where thousands were quick to rush to judgments, or to commit evil as if they were the good things. Even self-professed Christians became blind and deaf, fooled by the spiritual enemies’ lies that they couldn’t hear the Shepherd’s Voice anymore and His Truth.

“Sing a new song…”

God’s perfect reminder for me this morning, as I was still curled up in bed, weary and sick from spiritual battles around me. His reminder to let me know that despite this turmoil you and I have been in, we must not be weary worshipping and singing a new song from our hearts. As we sing Him a song, He rejuvenates our bodies, minds, souls, and hearts. He irons out confusions for they’re not from Him. He bandages the unseen wounds we carry with His love. He makes a way for those areas we think have no way out.He gives refreshments with His love and grace in battered bodies and souls as we always wear His Armor.

“Sing a new song…” A reminder for us to never give up standing for and doing what’s right in His eyes. To not go with the flow of evilness. To not read devastating and depressing news but to persist in sharing the Good News to those who come across our paths.

“Sing a new song…”

“Sing our Song!!!”

“Sing the Song of Refuge, our Power, and our Might!!!”

  1. Hi Rosel,
I have always been a person whose bucket is half full, not half empty. When I was a child my dad used to tell me bedtime stories that always had a happy ending, and that is how I feel my life in the Lord is - a story with a very happy ending, no matter what is in each chapter. God bless you as you live your life in the body of Christ on earth.

    1. I'm always thankful for the joy that comes from the Lord that helps me get through whatever trials I face. Even through these trying times, thanks be to God for His love, mercy, and grace that helps me always overcome. Your dad is right! You are right that no matter what suffering we're in, in this life's journey, there is something to look forward to that far outweighs all these troubles. Blessings to you and thank you for dropping by.

  2. Hi, Rosel, I hope you are having a safe Memorial Holiday. Thanks for dropping by and I so appreciate your cheerful, fun loving ways. Your message is right on, especially now with evil invading our country but we know light wins. I ask for prayers for our family right now. The enemy is invading and the warfare is intense. I need a friend. Thanks, Rosel.

  3. The devil is always walking about looking for whom he can destroy. A few ladies just finished a study through Hebrews which was wonderful. Mainly because who ever wrote it wrote it to believes under trials and they were wanting to go back to worshipping the old way, instead of through Christ. It's easy to want was is comfortable when in a trial and I think we all feel that way with the mask and other issues. Our political state in the US is worrisome if I believed either party was in control but I don't. Mask or no mask, God is still on the throne. Pray all is well with you now.

    1. Thank you for the encouragement sister Betty. It is not the discomfort of wearing masks, lockdowns nor social distancing that bother me. It is the lies behind everything & the taking advantage of the virus that is unbelievable for me, the extent of doing evil for power & money. Then again, there is nothing happening here that is not wriiten already in the Bible. I remain strong because of the Lord's grace, mercy, & love & knowing the truth that nothing, not even this kind of hardship, can separate us from His love. God bless & strengthen you🙏

  4. I can't thank you enough for your prayers right now. Many are seeing deception big time and I never thought our loved one would fall into it. The battle has to be won in the Spirit. Tom and I are driven to pray, repent and believe as we stand in the gap for our family to turn around. I can feel your prayers. You have mine, too. Love you!

  5. What a sweet reminder from one of God's creations. How much He shows us His love for us through nature and His creation. It has been a tough year in our house too due to my health. I am reading a book by James Baldwin, a black man who had wisdom that could be used today if some would partake of it. It has given me insight to myself and feelings about what is going on. I was reminded as I read of words that always help me, "There is nothing new under the sun." Evil was just that thousand of years ago and goodness was just that goodness. Evil trys to hide it's ugly head in all walks of life, trying trick us. Great post .

  6. Words may be different but we have been thinking the same sister Betty. I always think that history repeats itself and there's nothing going on that's not already known by God. I am just grateful that God has been patient for many to be saved as one day can be like a thousand years or vice versa. Thank you always for your visit. A refreshment to my faith. May God bless you, heal you and strengthen you always.

    1. Thank you sister Sandra that you didn't get tired reading the same post :) However, I do that many times even with the very first I had written and I feel like it's a new post again because I get reminded of what He told me to write. So that's my prayer... That whoever comes here always leave with encouragement and know Him through those posts He gave me. So glory be to God!

  11. I feel like crying sister Mary when I read this comment. I knew you would get me because I didn't want to sound like I was heartless when the girl lost her life suddenly. What I felt when I read your post was that... He didn't want us to mourn but instead, be joyful. Because He would meet us there especially those who truly love and follow Him and know His ways.Even before you talked about the community gathering together, I had seen God's glory right away and felt it as if I was there when you mentioned you were praying for Him to be glorified. I had learned to be joyful when my father was dying and truly felt He was with us. There was no other reason why my family and I could be that happy despite facing what was imminent. Anyway, death is only the beginning of something eternal. His hope and eternal promise were what would always lift any burdens in our hearts . That any sorrow He could turn into joy!!! So glory be to God! I did pray as I typed in your site for the Lord to guide me and help me convey what I wanted to say because I also wanted to glorify Him through the written words! So...thanks be to God! I always feel the love and prayers sister. Don't forget I do, too! :) Thanks for your comforting words...God bless and protect you.

  12. These times sure don't make sense - right is wrong, up is down - and God sent such beautiful encouragement. Yes, Rosel, we need to Sing a New Sing - His song, His praises. What a loving God who sent a bird to bring you encouragement in a song. The world may be jumbled up - but God is our rock. When we stand on it - we can be at peace. We can rejoice. What a good! Good Father we have!

  13. "What a good! Good Father we have!"

    Yes!!! All. The... Time...

It's great to hear from you sister Mary Leigh! 🙏 all is well & that you're staying strong in God's mighty power! Surely, He never changes. He's faithful & His promises are true! Enough to make me joyful despite trying times! Because I know that nothing or no one can separate us from His love!Thank you for your visit & encouragement!

  14. I hope you and yours had a special Christmas day! Happy New Year to you and may it be the best yet. My life is a roller coaster these days. Our youngest is prodigal still and Tom turned jaundice the first week of December. The cat scan showed a mass and the biopsy tells us stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. The stent is not working and the jaundice symptoms remain. He needs another cat scan but with the holidays and COVID, we wait. His vitals are good and liver and kidneys improved according to his bloodwork. So we pray for a miracle. I think of you often and wanted to drop by to give you a Christmas hug. I am standing strong in the Lord (as you always say!) and I'm so glad you imprinted that greeting on my heart. With love, Mary

  19. Hi, Rosel! Thinking of you and hoping all is well with you. Tom passed away over Memorial Day Weekend. The girls and I read Scripture, sang worship songs and prayed as he left into the arms of Jesus. Then our home filled with peace like never before. It's still here. We are all doing fine and very relieved. Carrie had an amazing breakthrough through it all and is free like never before. The kids are all great and helping me with getting through files of paperwork. Helps to stay busy! Be blessed today as we serve the Lord knowing he orders our steps. Much love to you!
