Down on my knees and in desperation, my heart cried for help. I tried to be as quiet as I should be so as not to disturb the others in the house I was living in. Darkness covered the entire room where I was kneeling on the floor, my cheeks and eyes soaked with tears. It had been many years of loneliness, of feeling alone. It had been years of endless struggles to finish Nursing in a foreign land. It had been years of suffering and treading through the waters without any relief on sight.

“I’m sorry…”I whispered without allowing the forming sobs to be audible. The beams from the moonlit night penetrated the sole window in that room I was in…

“Please help me! I don’t think I can go on any longer…” I uttered softly.

“Could it be?” I asked myself…

“That I am in love? Just like that? How could it be?” as I felt something heavy got lifted up into the air and vanished. My shoulders became strong. My heart felt light. My tears of despair, replaced with an unfamiliar feeling. Of joy!

What does being a Christian mean?

What does it mean to “walk the talk?”

What does it mean “to willingly serve?”

But there’s this question for everyone…

“How much do you know about Jesus?”

“Jesus…the lover of our souls…”

Help me to know more about You, Jesus…Draw me near to You…Thank You for Your unconditional love…

    In a post titled : "Help Me To Know You More", I recall my favorite verse encouraging folks on this.
    It is from Ephesians as you have chosen too:

    "ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
    I have not stopped giving thanks FOR YOU, remembering you in my prayers.
    I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,
    may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may KNOW HIM better.
    I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may KNOW
    the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
    and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
    That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ
    when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
    far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given,
    not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
    And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head
    over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way."

    The first time I received this on a card, from a woman, at a low point in life, she wrote "Know Him Better"
    and added one thing: Ephesians 1: 15-23 WOW!

    I looked it up and loved someone praying for me to KNOW HIM.

    I have often ended an email or card, with this precise verse message given to me decades Know Him better.

    There is always a response from the one who receives it, and reads the verses.
    (I don't print the verses; I let THEM look it up.)

      I think that's always the necessary step in knowing Him more....To do something on our part. How can we know more about Him when we don't even try to seek Him?
