Down on my knees and in desperation, my heart cried for help. I tried to be as quiet as I should be so as not to disturb the others in the house I was living in. Darkness covered the entire room where I was kneeling on the floor, my cheeks and eyes soaked with tears. It had been many years of loneliness, of feeling alone. What does it mean “to willingly serve?”

“How much do you know about Jesus?”
“Jesus…the lover of our souls…”

"We could begin this year!
In a post titled : "Help Me To Know You More", I recall my favorite verse encouraging folks on this.
It is from Ephesians as you have chosen too:
"ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,
I have not stopped giving thanks FOR YOU, remembering you in my prayers.
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,
may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may KNOW HIM better.
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may KNOW
the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ
when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given,
not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

The first time I received this on a card, from a woman, at a low point in life, she wrote "Know Him Better"
and added one thing: Ephesians 1: 15-23 WOW!
I looked it up and loved someone praying for me to KNOW HIM.
I have often ended an email or card, with this precise verse message given to me decades ago...to Know Him better.
There is always a response from the one who receives it, and reads the verses.

DeleteI think that's always the necessary step in knowing Him more....To do something on our part. How can we know more about Him when we don't even try to seek Him?
