Have you guys seen this video? Before I transferred to working in a prison facility, a lot of former co-workers from the hospital mostly had negative remarks of why I shouldn't go there. The number one reason was it was not a safe place to be.
But what would I do if the Lord was bringing me here? I would rather trust the One Who knew what was best for me at that time. And He would be my Protector!
Turned out to be, I even felt safer working in that environment.
There are many deputies who would be there in a heartbeat if something goes wrong. And of all the impossible.....there are those times, when some inmates themselves, step in to protect the staff....
From the moment I started working there, I knew that if I wanted to be respected, you had to treat everyone with respect..."You reap what you sow..." [Galatians 6:7].

A new broom sweeps clean.
We may change our methods but we don't change the basic principles.
If you're not changed, you don't have Jesus, because He changes people! No matter how good you are, He'll make you better!
Lord help me to change the things that need to be changed, & not to change the things that don't need to be changed, & especially Lord, help me to know the difference!
Just because we did it that way yesterday, doesn't mean we have to do it that way today! If you can find some easier, quicker, shorter, better, faster way to do it, do it!
All changes are difficult & sometimes costly, but if they're good changes, in the long run they pay off!

30 DAYS OF THANKSGIVING - 14
Praise God for working in the hearts of these men.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Thank God they came to the rescue of that officer AND I'm praying for GOD to touch and SAVE the souls of those men so that the good they did in this video WILL transfer into all aspects of their lives for the glory of God.
ReplyDeleteI also pray for Salvation and deliverance for the man who was trying to kill the officer.
Thank you for sharing your message as well Rosel. You are such a minister for the LORD. Love you.
There is no safe place except under His wing of protection. Sometimes we feel falsely secure...if we live in a nice neighborhood or go to a certain school we feel like we can not be touched by evil. That is completely false. You have found, Friend, what the Bible teaches as truth. The safest place to be is in the will of God. Where ever that is for you. Thank you for a great post.
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing!
ReplyDeleteGosh Rosel,
ReplyDeletethis is so troubling! and yet, so good at the same time! To see these men come to the rescue of this man is awesome. I pray for all of these men and others like them. For the Spirit of the Lord to come to them and be received and accepted!
Bless you Rosel for your heart for ALL of Gods children! You are such a blessing to all of us and to them!
I love you my friend
A touching story. Where ever God sends you He will also protect you. This touches my heart as I know several young people that are behind bars that were raised in a Christian enviroment. I write to a couple of them.
ReplyDeleteIt is always such a blessing to see God bring good from the bad. What a powerful witness of the favor of God upon this man. How He protected him, while administering His grace, in a Mighty work, by using these inmates for good. This is the kind of thing that people watch, and see God's hand in undeniable ways. Imagine the man who was attacked, and saved by these inmates! I would love to hear his testimony of what he experienced as God spared him. Thank you for sharing! I pray for God's favor upon you, and His powerful hedge around you!

Rosel,
ReplyDeleteThis is just a classic example of showing the mighty power of God is present everywhere. I am thankful everyday for what you do, the lives of the people you touch and for God's prevailing protection for you and your family!
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
Rosel,
ReplyDeleteI am so blessed that our paths have crossed. Your godly insight into a "world" most of us don't see is so touching. I thank God that He has you where you are and anoints you with such compassion and Divine discernment and Holy Ghost "grit". Keep on my sister, keep on!! Glory to God!
Sweet Blessings!
Jackie
Thank you to all of you who came here and blessed me with your encouraging comments. Very busy here today but I just want to let you all know that your footprints here are all appreciated...God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteThat really takes me back. I used to be a dispatcher at the Sheriff Dept, and our center was in the same building as the jail. We had cameras on many jail areas.
ReplyDeleteThis video is so heart gripping, made me want to shout! Here are all these inmates with beautiful hearts. Makes me wish they could all be released, but I guess that wouldn't be justice, eh?
Another thought provoking post to bless my day...
Wow...to love others with the grace that we have been loved...to treat others with the grace that we have been treated...to see beyond the label; the crime; the number and to see the person - that is when hearts will be touched and lives can begin to change.
ReplyDeleteIf it can be done in the harshest of places, can it not only be done in our neighborhoods and workplaces?
Shalom,
Denise
I am so glad for your witness. You listen to God and go where He says and not what men try to sway you to do. You are strong in Him and I bet there is so much happening in that prison where you shine bright that we don't even know about.
ReplyDeleteI love you, dear girlfriend. You make me laugh so hard when you leave comments for me. Love your delightful humor. A ministry to me right now, for sure!
Hugs,
Mary
I think the speaker on the video made a significant point that when a guard is consistently good to the inmates, they will look after him. I've heard this more than once from prison guards, and definitely seen it in my work.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right here that real goodness comes from God and the changes He makes in us.
I also really appreciated the way Lisa points out that when it's all said and done, the only really safe place is with God.
OH, wow - what an eye opening post/video here! I am so thankful that God hides us in the shadow of His wings!
ReplyDeleteTHanks for the prayers you lifted up for my sweet granddaughter Mercie.
Changes - hmmm. I fight them, resist them but in His gentleness He brings me to the place I need to go - and amazingly -it's the best....
ReplyDeleteStay safe out there RCUBE. His hand is on you my bloggy buddy. Sarah
What a wonderful reminder that we do not trust in chariots, or horses, but the name of the Lord our God, who can provide protection from the most unlikely places.
ReplyDeleteBlessings friend,
Thank you for this!
Lori
Rosel, I pray for you and your work. You are a great blessing to all those you come in contact with. Have a great day my friend. Audrey
ReplyDeleteRosel I am so impressed with the God in you! :)
ReplyDeleteWoW! The mission that God has given you is so very powerful. Appreciate you sharing your stories. Blessings and hugs around...
ReplyDeleteWow that was incredible. Your posts always amaze me Rosel. You are a blessing!!
ReplyDeleteEzekiel 36:25-27 (note the personal pronoun "I")..."Then "I" will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; "I" will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from your idols. Moreover, "I" will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and "I" will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. "I" will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances."
ReplyDeleteDo you see any doubt in these words. It's all about Him.
Wow, I'm so glad that was caught on film. I have no doubt that those men would fight for you Rosel. You are so good and kind to them all. Huge angels are surrounding you too.
ReplyDeleteLove!
