The Battle Isn't Mine

“10My people, you are my witnesses and my chosen servant. I want you to know me, to trust me, and understand that I alone am God. I have always been God;  there can be no others.  11I alone am the LORD;  only I can rescue you.  12I promised to save you, and I kept my promise.  You are my witnesses that no other god did this. I, the LORD, have spoken. 13I am God now and forever.  No one can snatch you from me or stand in my way. “ – Isaiah 43: 10-13 (CEV)

That unexpected meeting had me fully open to their winds of accusations that almost killed the light I tried to carry wherever I went. It flickered. The more wind, the more wavering it did and the little light became even lesser, to the point of going up in smoke.

Then, suddenly, a Huge Hand came and shielded my light against those strong winds of accusations that had no basis. The winds that came from three people in power who just wanted to serve their self-interests. Three people who were supposed to protect, and under our badges, were placed in their prominent positions, became the first ones to accuse and wanted to do a severe damage. They could only see the power that held them high. But they didn’t know. Any power from this world would not last. Any who was number one in position in this world would not mean it would be the same ranking in His Kingdom.

And my light didn’t die. Saved by His mighty Hand. And I saw the scars on His hands pierced by those nails. Nails that were driven by the same passion wrongfully used by those people in high power thousands of years ago. They wanted to kill him even if He was innocent. They didn’t want to believe anything He said though they were amazed by what they heard from Him. They thought they could plan for His death and made Him bleed as He walked through the narrow, dusty road leading to Golgotha, while carrying a heavy, wooden cross. But they didn’t know. It was already planned by God. He sacrificed His own Son to save humanity from their sins.

As I sat there battling those powerful winds, my heart glowed more with hope. Knowing that the God Who raised Him from the dead was the same One Who freed Him from death’s agony; as it was impossible for death to keep its hold on Him. My light grew brighter as He shielded me from those attacks and reminded me of what was to come. Because of what He had done. And because I chose to believe and trust in Him.

I am reviewing what I wrote from day one that there was a big change at work. I keep playing the recorded messages over and over. Praying for God’s discernment daily, I had that gut feeling to start taking notes as I felt that there was an unseen powerful storm that would threaten to stop His work in me. As they smirked and laughed their hearts out, celebrating because of what they thought crippled me, I remained resting in His wonderful promises. His Armor remained intact all over me, day in, day out.

Next week would be a big leap for me. As I try to sort out what I have to fight back.  I feel good. I have His mighty tools He gave me. They will not hear a loud yell from me. They will not expect any disrespectful remarks. For I am not reacting in the flesh but I’m fighting in the Spirit. With my defense, they will cower because of His truth and His righteousness. With my stance, they will not see any fear but peace, love, and the joy of salvation. They will hurt because I will bring the battle into His light and their hearts will be pierced with His sWORD. As I remain not standing up in a stance while holding a fist into the air, I would rather continue to bend my knees and fold my hands together. Even if they get calloused. As I know many of you are also keeping me in your prayers. And because of that, as we gather and meet in the Spirit, I pray that I see everything through His eyes, not mine. To God be the glory! Thank you friends for your prayers and love.

“And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's.” – 2 Chronicles 20:15 (ESV)

  2. These times of standing on the promises in faith are tough, but as this song says we know how it's going to turn out because of Jesus, our Lord. I'm right there with you, precious sister Rosel. We're standing together and praying.

  3. My prayer for you this morning Rosel, my dear and sweet Filipino kababayan, is that you will not be intimidated by the forces of darkness. You are right, the light that shines in you wil push back the darkness. Arise and shine for your light has come. My favorite verse comes to mind, it is in Isa. 42 - a bruised reed He will not break, a dimly burning wick He will not snuff out. Your weapons are not carnal, but mighty to pull down strongholds... Jesus is indeed your Commander in Chief who leads you in this fight. I am interceding for you - specially that as you wage war in the OPPOSITE spirit, your victory is sure. May you be as the Sons of Issachar who understood the times and the seasons and therefore they knew what Israel ought to do... so may the same spirit be on you.

    Praying for you,
    Lidj

I was thinking as I read this about how when college students would make an appointment to come complain about their composition grades. I would always read Psalms before the meeting. They would come in like lions, read to devour and leave like lambs - truth revealed!

Praying for peace and rest while the battle rages around you!

Encouragers

The Attacker (5/15/09)

The sun was just peeking from the Eastern skies. Ephesians 6:12 [37 kb]

Out in the prison’s yard, some huge Sheriff’s buses were illuminated by the soft glow coming from the lights all over from the tall lamp posts. Their engines were turned on, warming up, before the buses would take the inmates to the different courts where they would have their trials.

Orange-uniformed men were lined up in pairs, joined together with handcuffs and chained, forming a long line. They already had their breakfast and had their morning medications prior to going to courts. Some were fidgeting, as they waited to board those buses.

All of a sudden, all hell broke loose! Two men were engaged in a fight, using weapons they made secretly for a while. Deputies called for help on the radio, both for custody back-up and medical staff, as well.

When the air was cleared and the other inmates were secured, one man was down on the floor. He sustained multiple gashes but two of them were deep. One cut was vertically etched from his left ear going down to the jaw line. The other dangerous cut was horizontal on his left neck, close to the jugular vein. Pool of blood dripped all over the floor. Holding his bleeding neck, he was pointing at the other inmate few feet away, being guarded by the other deputies.

The other man being accused was not hurt. There were no lacerations nor any other signs of trauma. He was obviously very agitated as he was being questioned by those deputies, while the medical staff started treating the other man on the floor. They cleaned the wounds and controlled the bleeding. That man was sent to the nearby hospital.

When the investigation was finalized, it turned out to be that the “downed man who was accusing the other inmate” was the attacker and the other one who didn’t have injury was the one attacked. The deputies found out that it was the second attempt to attack the unhurt man. Both attacks on him failed. He was well-prepared after the first attempt on him, that when the second attempt was done, he was able to defend himseld and ended up injuring his attacker severely.

We also have an “accuser of the brethren.” Satan and his army of demons are the enemies of God and of everything good.

“Because God’s children are human beings – made of flesh and blood – Jesus also became flesh and blood by being born in human form. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the Devil, who had the power of death.” –Hebrews 2:14

Because of what Jesus had done [dying on the cross], we, who live in constant fear of death shouldn’t be afraid anymore. Jesus had freed us from that fear so we can live for Him. When we belong to God, we know that death is only the portal that leads into “eternal life”. [“Thank You Lord!].

Paul warned us, too that we also battle against the evil forces of Satan, who is a vicious fighter. But to be able to withstand their attacks, we must depend on God’s strength and use every piece of His armor. We face an army whose goal is to defeat Christ’s church. When we believe in Christ, they become our enemies. They will try any device to turn us away from the Lord.

Fear not! For God has provided His supernatural power to defeat Satan and his army, through His Holy Spirit within us. So, arm yourselves with God’s armor.

Let us be strong in the Lord's mighty power. Let's put on His whole armor to resist the enemy's attacks: put on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that we are well-prepared. We will need faith in every battle as our shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed by Satan and his army. Let us put on salvation as our helmet, not forgetting the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Let's pray at all times, on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. We must stay alert and be persistent in our prayers for all Christians everywhere. [Ephesians 6:10-18].
