Only Way

My family & I went to check the plateau yesterday and decided to just drive around and even if we got lost, that would be okay since we were planning to explore what could be seen from up there. It was beautiful and we never knew there were so many trails available and many cars were already parked by one trail. People were arriving while some were already done with their day's hiking. The view was spectacular as we could see the snow-capped mountain from a distance.

We decided to take the road that was not familiar and it was the only road to go around that place so we could exit to the other side. Many big, beautiful homes were built up on top and we never knew that there were so many avocado trees. It was a long, winding road and there was no time to turn back since we already had driven for a while. We just knew that we had to take this only road to be able to get out of that place. Reminds me of our spiritual life. There is no other way to go to heaven but only through Jesus. He is the "Only Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can go to the Father but by Him."-John 14:6. Jesus also said in John 14:1, "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me." May you take the only road that's been available for all of us in order for us to have an eternal life. God bless....

As white as snow...

Back in year 2005, it snowed here where I live and it rarely happens. Everyone was excited to see the snow flakes raining down on everything, the roof tops, the ground, the roads..As I got off from work that morning, I had a message from my son who excitedly told me about that unexpected event. Sure enough, when I got to familiar roads, I couldn't even recognize since everything was covered with snow. It was like a dream. Despite the many constructions at that time, the dust and the ground were not even there to be seen as everything was just beautiful covered in white snow! This experience reminded me of how, spiritually speaking, we are all smudged with dirt called sins. Its penalty is death. But if we accept Jesus into our hearts and truly believe that He is Lord, that He came here as a man, died on the cross and rose again, our dirt [sins] would be like as white as snow. From Isaiah 1:18, "No matter how deep the stain of sins, I can remove it. I can make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you white as wool." Thanks be to God. That He is offering His gift of salvation to anyone who readily welcomes Him into their hearts. John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life...If you are feeling down and out, if you had reached the ends of your rope, if you had reached the ends of the road where you travel and there seemed to be no hope, no direction, God has been inviting all of us to accept and open His gift of salvation. "It is a gift from God."-Ephesians 2:8. It's as easy as saying this prayer. Just pray it out loud and mean it with all of your heart..."Dear Father, I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for me. I trust Jesus Christ to forgive my sins right now. Let me start a new and meaningful life with You today. Amen." God bless and may you discover the Lord's love more and more...

Offering

Everyday, we hear about the many suicide bombings from the Middle East. War has been going on. But there is a battle in each one of us....that is, when we make our decisions as we are faced with many trials daily. Let us "offer" ourselves to our God Who can guide us with His divine wisdom so that we don't make the wrong decisions in everything that we have to tackle. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts are higher than your thoughts." - Isaiah 55:9. May you be touched by this song by Paul Baloche. God bless.

Has It Occurred with You?

I find technology awesome when I was flying back after visiting my then ill father last month. I was so tired yet I couldn't sleep and there wasn't really much to see but a great pile of dense, white clouds, down below. I started thinking, "how could a heavy metal [airplane] with a heavy load be able to defy gravity?" When I briefly glanced outward the tiny window where I was sitting, I saw a group of birds flapping their wings, soaring in different heights, exploring the vastness of the skies. God's simplicity yet awesome creativity is EVIDENT!

Just now that I'm posting this blog, it's really neat that we all can communicate and share ideas with the use of computer. Go ahead...I challenge you to pay more attention whenever you step out of your houses and be more aware of what God had given us...Feel the warmth of the sun. Be breathless with the sight of the golden sun when it retires on the western skies, painted with its golden glow, only to be awed by the bright, full moon when darkness wraps everything. And the twinkling stars, scattered like diamonds?

"Since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations and their foolish heart was darkened." - Romans 1:20-21.

Morro Bay Holiday

My first time to blog. I have been wanting to write but despite the many ideas, it was just hard to start not knowing how to start. Until in a pensive mood, thoughts flashed and my mind was flooded with the good things God had given and done for me. Now, I know... If not for Him, nothing would be possible. So why not write about His goodness? After all, I owe everything to Him.

On our recent holiday to Morro Bay, California, my family and I had the opportunity to go across Morro Bay by a canoe. There was actually a beach right on the middle of the bay. At times, it would be windy and it seemed scary when the water was not still at all. It was hard to coordinate with our paddling. Whenever the wind blew, we had to paddle harder to make our canoe go to the direction we wanted it to go. Trying to distract myself from exhaustion and slight fear, I happened to look down below and saw how calm it actually looked through the slightly murky water. Some little crabs were crawling and little fishes were swimming in finesse. A lot of short and tall kelps were swaying along with the waves. It looked like they were dancing. There was a sense of peace despite the gusts of wind on the surface. The sunny, blue skies was vividly reflected back by the cold water. What simple and peaceful scene! And we reached the beach on the middle and had fun looking at the big rock as we played with the sand.

Such experiences can help us remember that we are not alone as we face day to day trials. We may project our fears and worries outside. But it is possible for us to be at peace deep inside, despite the turmoils we all go through. Only in Jesus can we find that inner peace. He is the Rock we can look up to.

In John 16:33, Jesus said, "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world." How comforting to know that God is there with us as we go through all the trials. God encourages and comforts us so we can encourage and comfort others in return. In this lifetime's journey, there is a special path where you can turn and be refreshed...Off the beaten trek!

May you be encouraged as you stumble on this site. God bless.
