Spiritual Sundays - Prayer

Reading Psalm 17:6 on September 1, 2007 inspired me to write this song “Forever”.

Psalm 17:6 says, “I am praying to You because I know You will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray.”

“Forever”

O Lord, listen as I pray
I come to You because I know You’ll answer me
Oh God, You are my strength
At times I’m so lost and I feel so weak

Chorus:

Forever, I will bless Your Name
Your unfailing love that has an undying flame
Forever, I will worship You alone
I trust no one but You, my Lord

O Lord, You listen as I pray
I come to You because I know You’re listening
O God, You’re the light of this world
You help us rise again when we stumble and fall

“Don’t pray for lighter burdens but for stronger backs.”

“Prayer is when you talk to God; meditation is when you listen to God.” - Diana Robinson

“Prayer is not asking. It is the longing of the soul. It is the daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.” - Mahatma Gandhi

“To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” - Martin Luther King, Jr.

  6. Rosel,

I can't wait for the day that songs like this will be put to music and become the praise and worship songs we begin to sing in church.

What a beautiful way to glorify our Lord! Thank you so much for sharing.

  12. Good Morning, thanks for coming by Grace Talk and leaving your thoughts with me. I agree with what you said there. I am so glad that God's grace lovingly shows us the areas where pride has crept in and then, without condemnation He points us in the right direction. In this we find out coleslaw LOL.

I loved this prayer and say AMEN! He is the only one worthy of all of our hearts and trust! We pray to Him knowing that He hears and not only can but, WANTS to answer us when we call.

    Wonderful post! God Bless!
